Daisi Makbeth |
Daisy Macbeth |
preferuar me tre shije. |
Daisy was looking at the clothes in the shop window of
Bronzetti’s enjoying her favourite three-flavour ice cream. |
Nuk hynte kurre neper dyqane
sepse nuk mund ti merrte me ato cmime. |
She never went into the shop because she couldn’t
afford their prices. |
"Duhet ta pranoj qe moda
italiane eshte shume e bukur por duhet te jesh teper elegante per te hyre
brenda" mermeriti Daisi. |
"I must admit that Italian styles are very nice,
but you have to be pretty slim to get into them." Daisy muttered to
herself. |
It wasn’t that Daisy was fat, she was just average,
but certainly not paper-thin, like most models. |
dhe peshperiti akoma;" Mm,
mua me pelqen ngjyra e kesaj copes Deux. |
And again to herself, "Mm, that two-piece is a
lovely shade." |
"Kei , nuk e prisja te te
shikoja ketu,oh me falni ju nuk jeni Kei , e vertete?" |
"Kay, I didn’t expect to see you here yet - oh,
sorry you’re not Kay, are you?" |
Daisi u kthye per te pare se
kush foli me te. |
Daisy turned around to see who was speaking to her. |
Nga pamja dukej nje burre me
ngjyre , me mjeker dhe rreth te 50 -ve. |
It was a rather shabby-looking, bearded man of about
fifty. |
Dukej qarte qe ishte me
He was clearly of African origin and had a strong
Southern States accent. |
Pervec veshjeve , perdorte
syzet e nje marke italiane qe Daisi e dinte qe kushtonin nje grusht
lekesh. |
In spite of his clothes he was wearing glasses of a
famous Italian make, which Daisy knew cost a lot of money. |
"Jo nuk jam une" |
"No, indeed." |
dyqani i preferuar i saj i akullores. |
Daisy wasn’t used to being chatted up in the middle of
the High Street and made to walk off in the direction of her favourite
ice-cream parlour. |
"me falni , zonjushe... ehm
, shiko une jam nje regjizor dhe ..." |
"Please excuse me, Miss...er, you see I’m a film
director and..." |
" Jo faleminderit , nuk jam
e interesuar. Mirupafshim" |
"No thank you, I’m not interested. Goodbye." |
"Jo nuk po me kuptoni. Jam
me te vertete." |
"No, you don’t understand. I really am. |
"Jam Laurenc Baker" tha
burri i cili donte ti tregonte Daisit sesi shqiptohej emri i tij dhe se nga
e kishte preardhjen. |
"I’m Lawrence Baker," the man told Daisy as
though the mention of his name would explain his behaviour. |
"Ndersa une jam nje
dedektive private!" replikoi Daisi. |
"And I’m a private investigator!" retorted
Daisy. |
"Oh nuk ka perse,do me
duhesh gjithsesi." |
"Oh, that doesn’t matter, you’ll do just the
same." |
Daisi mbi te gjitha ishte e
zonja tia hidhte njerezve budallenj, por kesaj here ishte pak kurioze per te
Daisy was rather good at getting rid of stupid people
but this time she was a bit curious to know what was behind this sort of
insistence. |
" Me therrisni vetem
Laurenc" vijoi burri misterioz. |
"Do call me Lawrence" the man added. |
"Degjoni, ndoshta ju nuk
keni degjuar te flitet rreth meje, une kam direkt versionin e "Koha"te te
gjithe autoreve te Harlemit. |
"Look, in case you’ve never heard of me I
directed an all Harlem cast of The Tempest." |
Daisit i pelqente Shekspir
dhe filmin e kishte pare ne kinema. |
Daisy liked Shakespeare on the screen and had indeed
seen the film. |
"Beh Filmi i tij me ka
pelqyer shume , por une nuk jam Kei dhe...Oh ju mos po mendoni per Kei
Bartok, aktoren kanadeze ne Makbeth?" |
"Well, I liked your film immensely but I’m not
Kay and......oh, you weren’t talking about Kay Bartok, the Canadian
actress in Macbeth? |
"Ju e keni bere edhe kete
regji , e vertete?" |
"You made that too, didn’t you?" |
"Po". Laurenc Baker
buzeqeshi.Daisi i kishte gjalleruar diten. |
"Yes." Lawrence Baker smiled. Daisy had made
his day. |
"Besoj se filmat e mi muk te
japin shume leke, por me pelqen te degjoj nje angleze qe thote se te pakten i
ka pelqyer njeri prej tyre." |
"I’m afraid my films don’t make a lot of money,
but it gives me pleasure to hear an Englishwoman saying she enjoyed at
least one of them. |
"Por ti kthehemi biznesit". |
"But back to business. |
"Une te shkembeva me Kein
"I mistook you for Kay. And I’ve had a wonderful
idea. How would you like to be her double for the rest of the week!" |
Daisi shtangu. |
Daisy was stunned. |
Zoti Laurenc vazhdoi:"
njejtin trup e pikerisht te njejtat floke te gjate geshtenje." |
Mr. Lawrence continued: "Your face isn’t exactly
like hers but you have an identical build and just the same long
light-brown hair. |
"E dini ju ? Kei eshte pak e
stresuar dhe ka mjaft nevoje te pushoje." |
"You know, Kay, is a bit run down and she badly
needs a rest. |
"Dhe fakti eshte qe ka nje
mal me impenjimeper ditet qe vijojne per te promovuar filmin tone te
fundit"Rikthim nga xhungla me cdo kusht". |
"The thing is that she has a lot of engagements in
the next few days as we are here to promote our latest film, "Back to
the jungle with a modem". |
"Beh, ne te vertete une nuk
recitoj si profesioniste ose te pakten e bej kur kam ndonje rast per te
zbuluar me cdo kusht, por....tha Daisi. |
"Well, I really don’t act as a profession - at
least I do sometimes when I’m investigating a case, but......" said
Daisy. |
"Me degjo, perse nuk shkojme
ne nje kafene gjekundi,"Laurenc tregoi nje kafene qe ishte matane rruges. |
"Look, why don’t we have a cup of coffee over
there," Lawrence indicated a coffee shop on the other side of the
road. |
"Kei me ka lene njje takim
atje sepse ajo me pare donte te bente pazaret" |
"Kay is meeting me there because she wanted to do
some shopping first. |
" Shiko, ja tek eshte,po hyn
tani ne kafene" |
"Look, there she is, going into the coffee shop now." |
Lawrence was the talkative type who would never take no
for an answer, and Daisy was rather intrigued by the whole matter so she
decided to meet Kay Bartok. |
When she was introduced to the actress, Daisy saw that
their features were different and that Kay Bartok was at least fifteen
years older, but physically they were indeed very similar. |
Kei Bartok
kishte nje theks te forte kanadez. |
Kay Bartok had a strong Canadian accent. |
"Keshtu qe ju jeni nje
dedektive private zonjusha Hamilton." |
"So you’re a private eye, Miss Hamilton. |
"Eshte me te vertete
interesante!" |
"How very interesting. |
"Ndonjehere ju mund te
gjendeni ne situata shume te veshtira." |
"You must get into very dangerous situations
sometimes." |
Daisit filloi ti pelqente
kjo zonje e madhe e cila i veshtronte personat sikur ajo te ishte me te
vertete e interesuar per to rreth asaj qe ato flisnin. |
Daisy took a liking to this gracious lady who looked at
people as though she was sincerely interested in what they were saying. |
" Kei , Cfare mendoni?" |
"Kay, what do you think? |
"Zonjusha Hamilton mund te
trukohet shume tek syte, te perdore nje kapele ne menyre qe t,ia mbuloje
fytyren deri ne gjysem dhe do te duket si ti." |
"Miss Hamilton could put heavy eye make-up on, wear
a face-covering hat and would look exactly like you." |
"Nje minute ,zoti Baker,une
punoj si nje dedektive private dhe jo si nj figurante ne ndonje film..." |
"Just a minute, Mr. Baker, I work as a private eye
and not as a film double..." |
"Degjo, Daisi, ne mund te te
paguajme pikerisht sikurse ti te jesh duke investiguar dicka. |
"Look, Daisy, we could pay you just as if you were
investigating something. |
"Ju do te na benit nje nder
te madh"- insistoi Laurenc. |
"You would be doing us a great favour,"
Lawrence insisted. |
Daisi hezitoi: |
Daisy hesitated: |
Ajo kishte ne dore vetem nje
ceshtje dhe kjo ishte sikur ajo te paguante per ndonje mobilje zyre per te
cilen kishte nevoje. |
she had only one case on hand at that moment and that
was how to pay for some office furniture she needed badly. |
ne tavolinen e saj aktet i
Files were everywhere, and her fax machine wasn’t
working. |
"Beh"- replikoi ajo-" isha
"Well" – she replied – "I was just
going on holiday, but I could put it off for a few days." |
Laurenc Baker buzeqeshi
triumfues. |
Lawrence Baker smiled triumphantly: |
"Kei, ti ik dhe pusho per
ditet ne vijim dhe une do ta marr Daisin ne shetitje , neper festat dhe
drekat ne te cilat do te shkoje ti" |
"Kay, you go off and have a rest for the next few
days, and I’ll take Daisy round with me to parties and lunches you would
be going to." |
Kei Bartok e veshtroi e
qetesuar. |
Kay Bartok looked relieved. |
"Une deshiroj te ju
falenderoj juve Zonjusha Hamilton dhe shpresoj qe kur te vij heren tjeter
ketu te te bej nje vizite dhe te bisedojme pak se bashku." |
"I want to thank you Miss Hamilton and I hope the
next time I come over I can look you up and we can have a good laugh
together." |
Diten
The next morning Daisy found herself in a hotel suite
with Mr. Baker helping her with her make-up. |
Daisi u ndiente pak ne
siklet. |
Daisy was a bit confused. |
"Por zonja Baker eshte shume
me e vjeter se une! por njerezit nuk e vene re?" |
"But Miss Bartok is older than me! Won’t people
notice? |
"Dhe ka pikerisht theksin
tend?" |
"And what about her accent?" |
Laurenc qeshi. |
Lawrence laughed. |
"Mos u shqeteso. Kei eshte e
njohur per filmat e saj klasike dhe rolet e saj teatrale. |
"Don't worry. Kay is well-known for her stage and
film classical acting, |
Ajo ka studiuar ne Londer,
saqe shumica e njerezve mendojne se ajo eshte angleze. |
she studied in London, you know, and most people think
she is English anyway. |
Sa per faktin qe Kei eshte
me e vjeter se ju kjo nuk do te vihet re ne film.!" |
"As to the fact that Kay is older than you, she
doesn’t look it in her films!" |
Daisi mori kurajo dhe u
kenaq per gjithe javen qe vijoi. |
Daisy took courage by the hand and enjoyed herself
immensely for the rest of that week. |
Ajo veshi
fitoi 500 sterlina. |
She wore beautiful clothes, opened a fête, had gorgeous
food in wonderful restaurants in the heart of London and earned
five hundred pounds. |
Laurenc ishte gjithcka por
jo koprac. |
Lawrence was anything but mean. |
Ishte vetem dicka:
Fatkeqesisht ajo kishte shtuar dy kile! |
There was just one thing - unfortunately she had put on
four pounds in weight! |
Kur u kthye ne zyre Daisi po
veshtronte gazetat qe nuk i kishte pare ditet e fundit. |
Back in her office Daisy was perusing the newspapers she
hadn’t had time to see in the last few days. |
Ne nje
reviste popullore lexoi: |
One tabloid read: |
"Kei Bartok inaguroi festen
semureve sklerose. |
"Kay Bartok opens fête in the heart of England to
collect money for a multiple sclerosis charity. |
Pothuajse
Nearly double the sum expected was donated thanks to the
charm of this great actress. |
dhe dukej me e re sesa kur kishte luajtur Leidin Makbeth ne filmin e
Laurenc Bakerit.
|
It was noticed that she looked very well, and younger
than when she played Lady Macbeth in Lawrence Baker’s film. |
Ajo me modesti thonte qe
akullorja angleze. |
She modestly said that she hopes to act even better in
her next role and that she likes English ice-cream very much!" |
